Pupils have two morning breaks one of 10 minutes and one of 15 minutes. The children in Reception may have playtimes at a different time depending on the classroom activities. Children in Key Stage 1 and Reception are provided with fruit and vegetables at playtime under the government scheme. The children in Key Stage are encouraged to eat a healthy snack too - fruit or veg is an ideal option. All children are given the option to purchase school milk if they wish to do so.
Lunchtime is from 12 pm to 1 pm. Children in the younger classes have from 12 pm - 1.15 pm. At lunchtime, the children either have one of our hot school meals, freshly-prepared in our on-site kitchen, or bring a packed lunch to eat during supervised sittings. Some may go home for lunch if they live locally. Lunchtime is supervised by three dinner supervisors in the hall and in the playground. Grace is said before children start to eat their lunch. Healthy packed lunches should be brought in a named plastic lunchbox and drinks in leak-proof unbreakable containers. These are stored on shelves in the classroom or cloakroom areas. Please do not send any food in glass containers and do not send fizzy drinks. Children need a serviette on which they can lay out their food. Good table manners are encouraged at all times. During the summer children with packed lunches are able to eat outside.
All children have a 15 minute break in the afternoon.
School finishes at 3.30pm for all.
