Day 3

After a lovely chilled evening, that included a game of football and a movie night (popcorn included), everyone has woken ready to get going.

It may be our final day here but there is still so much to enjoy with groups heading for the zip wire, orienteering courses and the lake for raft building!

However the biggest challenge comes at the very start: tidying rooms.

Activity 1

Activity 1 is done! With groups racing to finish orienteering and flying done the zipwire (videos coming soon), we've all had a great time. We're down to our last activities. Thankfully they are all great ways to finish!

Day 2 - Activity 2

Does finding your way around an obstacle course while blindfolded sound fun? According to Isla it was, “The best thing ever!” Year 4’s have enjoyed working as a team to all get round a course that included seesaws, tunnels under the ground and a cargo net. Of course, they made it look easy!

Meanwhile, Year 6 headed back up the ropes and conquered fears once more as they traversed tightropes high – really high - above the ground. They raced around the course, going higher and further each time and had to be persuaded to return to solid ground for lunch.

Day 2 - Activity 1

We've started by nailing climbing and orienteering. The Year 6 children showed amazing courage as the scaled the Gladiator challenge and the Traverse course. Every one of them reached their own target, with some impressing the instructor by getting to the very top. Meanwhile the Year 4s have been racing across the site as they competed in the orienteering challenge - more photos to come!

Day 2 - Breakfast 

We've woken to the view of beautiful sunshine across the lake after a very calm and settled night. Even the Year 6s were asleep by a sensible time and everyone is now up and relaxing before breakfast. Our activities today include traversing high-ropes, climbing the gladiator challenge and some hand to hand combat in fencing! 

Breakfast done! We're very impressed with how much they can all eat - several children had two rounds of a full-English. Now it's time to head out and use up all that energy!

Day 1

We have arrived! After the fun of making beds and unpacking, the children headed out in groups to enjoy their first activities of the trip. This meant a mix of sailing, zipwire, climbing and canoeing. It was fantastic to see everyone give each of their activities a try and many expressed how glad they were to have persevered. Apparently, we will soon be seeing children taking up sailing when they return!

After a roast dinner, we then joined other schools for an incredibly noisy and thankfully enjoyable England game. Not only did the children lift the roof with endless chants but were also pleased to complete several successful Mexican waves.

This evening it was time for a campfire, songs and, importantly, marshmallows! It has been a great start to the trip and everyone is excited about tomorrow.
