The aim of Nourish is to ensure that as many children as possible have access to, and take up the option of having a healthy, tasty hot meal during the school lunch period.
Research suggests that providing a child with a healthy lunchtime meal can increase their performance and enhance their learning abilities in the afternoon. Nourish wants to harness this and provide high quality, nutritionally-balanced meals which will have a positive effect on pupils’ learning abilities.
This scheme provides our school children with the opportunity to enjoy a healthy, nutritionally-balanced meal, served by caring and well-trained staff. All the meals provided are nutritionally balanced to meet strict Government guidelines and are prepared on the premises using good-quality ingredients by our dedicated staff.
We understand that some children can be fussy eaters or are not used to eating some of the food provided, and so we will be gently encouraging children and young people to try new foods so that they can begin to enjoy all the food on offer.
