School Day

School starts at 9.00am when the registers are taken; the doors open from 8.45am. Parents are welcome to bring their child into school and read quietly with them until 9.00am. All doors are locked after 9.00am for security purposes. Entry will then be via the school office after that time and parents are asked to sign the child into school so that registers may be amended. The gate by the church is locked each day from 9.10am until 3.00pm for security reasons, and if you need to come into school please use the main entrance gates.

All pupils have a morning break for 15 minutes. The times are staggered for each Key Stage so everybody has plenty of room to play in. We promote and encourage a healthy eating policy.

Pupils in Reception and Key Stage 1 have a 15 minute break in the afternoon.

School finishes at 3.30pm for all.

Lunchtimes

Lunchtime is from 12.00pm to 1.15pm. At lunchtime the children bring a packed lunch to eat during supervised sittings in the school or may go home for lunch. Lunchtime is supervised by four dinner supervisors in classrooms and in the playground. Grace is said before children start to eat their lunch. Healthy packed lunches should be brought in a named plastic lunchbox and drinks in leak-proof unbreakable containers. These are stored on shelves in the classroom or cloakroom areas. Please do not send any food in glass containers and do not send fizzy drinks. Children need a serviette on which they can lay out their food. Good table manners are encouraged at all times.

If parents are in receipt of Income Support or Child Tax Credit but do not receive Working Tax Credit and have a taxable income of less than £13,480 they can apply for free school meals for their children. Please see the school office for further information.
