OPEN EVENING for current parents and those considering the school for September 2011 will take place in September 2010. Please let the school know if you would like to be informed when it is or keep an eye on our dates page. Everyone is welcome!
Home school agreement
Since September 1999 the government requires that all schools have a Home-School Agreement in place, which sets out what schools and parents can do to support each other in the education of our children. Whilst this is not a legally binding document, it supports best practice and is a formalised way of agreeing that we will all act in the child's best educational interest. Every new family to the school will be asked to sign the Agreement which encompasses all our aims and asks for parental support in issues such as timekeeping and supporting home learning. Copies of the Home-School Agreement can be obtained from the school.
Open Door Policy
We welcome families into school and work continually to further develop links.

Starting School
Our new intake provision starts early at Culworth CE Primary School. When parents first approach the school they are encouraged to visit to observe the school in action and talk to the Headteacher and staff. Registration forms are available from the school office. The agreed admissions limit each year is 27 places.
However children who live outside our catchment area have successfully requested admission. The Diocese deals with appeals procedures. Places are usually offered at the end of the spring term the same as all other church and LEA schools.
Once places have been offered and accepted parents and children are invited into school in the summer term for a series of afternoons. They are also invited to various events held in the summer term. The Reception class teacher also offers visits to children’s homes for informal chats at the beginning of September.
In order to reflect the Local Education Authority’s guidance and to ensure a calm and purposeful start to their school career children experience a part time entry into school during their Reception Year.
