Culworth Church of England Primary School has a two hundred year history (not all primary schools can claim that!) Over the last twenty years the school has significantly changed with a near doubling of pupils, new classrooms, and the transformation of the ground floor of the 200 years old school house into a modern teaching space – we look forward to bringing back into service the upper floor too.
Over the last ten years or so all schools have undergone a revolution in the classroom as a result of the introduction of the national curriculum and its accompanying regulations and standards. There are new teaching methods, as well as the best of the familiar. There is a whole range of tests and targets for pupils, teachers and governors to meet. Public accountability has never been higher. Our reports have been consistently good and we continue to develop the curriculum and facilities. Most recently we have greatly extended the library and computer facility with the assistance of our wonderful CPSA (Parent Teacher Association).
Whilst we are proud of our academic achievements, we place a high value on sport and the arts and aim to produce well-rounded children.
The school prides itself in the relationship between teachers, parents and governors, and between the school and the wider community. Whether you are a new or prospective parent, a volunteer helping out in the classroom or just a visitor to the school I am sure you will be made very welcome. We need your support to help maintain our high standards and the quality of learning experience our children deserve.
Thank you.
John Harrison, Chair of Governors, Culworth CE Primary School
